A massive crowd showed up today expecting a spectacle, and both teams delivered in a match that will be remembered for years. On one side stood MNC, the dominant force of Season 2, playing both finals and carrying the weight of favoritism. On the other side stood Underwater, the eighth seed, the ultimate underdogs who shocked the league by reaching the final after eliminating giants.
The match exploded early. In the 13th minute, after a foul committed by Casey Quintero on the Underwater forward inside the box, the referee awarded a penalty. Luis Espina stepped up with confidence and converted, sending the Underwater supporters into total disbelief. The underdogs drew first blood and instantly turned the final into a true battle.
MNC responded with calm and authority, slowly taking control of possession and pushing higher up the field. The pressure kept building until, in the 41st minute, Ángel “Cubita” Díaz stepped up to take a penalty for MNC. With all the weight of the final on his shoulders, he converted with class and tied the game 1–1 just before halftime, completely shifting the momentum.
The second half became tactical, physical, and emotional. Both teams created chances, both defenses held strong, and the crowd could feel that a single moment would decide the champion. That moment came in the 71st minute when Santi from MNC was fouled inside the box. Once again, Cubita stepped forward. No hesitation. No fear. Just execution. He buried the second penalty and completed the comeback.
From that point on, MNC defended like champions. Underwater pushed forward desperately searching for an equalizer, but MNC held strong until the final whistle exploded with celebration.
With this victory, MNC becomes the second-ever Supercup champion in UFL history. Their badge now joins Panthers, the Season 1 champions, on the Supercup trophy.
